I did not realize how much Yanis Varoufakis has impressed the Germans who are very much fascinated by the Greek culture for centuries. Satirical programs are always a highlight in German TV and are very popular among the Germans. They reflect very precisely the collective sentiment of this nation that goes under in the controlled MSM. The satirical program below says more about the current relationship of the Germans to the just cause of the Greek battle against the criminal financial cartel of the troika than any long economic analysis. There is one more reason why Greece is now coming to the fore, which I mentioned in my latest article yesterday where I discussed my light work in Europe as Logos God and will elaborate more on today.

German satirical program on Yanis Varoufakis: V for Varoufakis | NEO MAGAZIN ROYALE mit Jan Böhmermann – ZDFneo

Georgi,

This seems to be a smear campaign here against Yanis. I’m only going to mention Engdahl’s article:

1. Yanis worked at valve software because his economic ideas were so advanced that no one could believe him or model them. He had expertise to do so. Valve used his skills to model video games where people create virtual economies and valve – the owner was a computer recluse with intelligence far above most in that industry. He saw Yanis’ as a visionary. Valve was making billions and they wanted to protect their video game model in the face of changing economics. Some of these games are very simple and they advertise them on tv a lot these days – collecting icons and selling virtual things to people online.

2. Engdahl never mentioned Yanis’ best book – The Global Minotaur (pdf here). This book is a capstone in global macro thinking and nothing comes close to it.

3. The game theory books he has written are top notch, though I am not familiar with the actual practice of them.

This all smells like a smear campaign to debase the authenticity and hard work behind Varoufakis. If there ever was a truth that Yanis was the trojan horse, it was one that placed was in the EU, not in Greece.

Thanks, Eric

Dear Eric,

Thank you very much for these insightful comments on Varoufakis. I did not say that I agree with Engdahl’s opinion on him and I also thought immediately that he is too suspicious of Varoufakis and also do not understand well the interdependences in finance.

But it is still remarkable why he quit the position as finance minister when he made this strong interview with Bloomberg before the referendum and said that he will only resign if the result is “yes” in favour of the troika austerity proposals, and now he did it under their pressure thus demonstrating that Greece and its government is not sovereign and cannot make decisions entirely on its own.

I personally think that Varoufakis is an integer person, but too much embedded in western economic thinking. He should have considered more strongly from the very beginning to quit the eurozone and the EU and to go a new way if he was such a visionary as you describe him. And if his government sacrificed him for a better but still imposed deal by the troika, then there must be some more Trojan horses in the Syriza government that play the insidious game of the ruling cabal and the betrayal of the Greek cause is pre-programmed, no matter what the people decided at the ballot boxes.

Ultimately, it does not matter now as the collapse of the Orion monetary system has commenced and all roads lead to the destruction of Rome. Greece has demonstrated that the EU despises democracy and that it is not a union of sovereign countries but a raw version of the NWO controlled by the dark cabal and ruled by technocratic clones.

With love and light

George

Emotional Varoufakis moved by conservative German MP

From RT:

In five months of being Greek Finance Minister, Yanis Varoufakis proved himself to be a tough negotiator who was not going to concede even a bit to Greece’s creditors, as well as a political ‘rock star’ who wins hearts and minds from atop his motorcycle.

Varoufakis never showed that he was ready to accept all the demands Greece creditors put towards the debt-stricken nation. He repeatedly refused bailout plan offered by the troika of international creditors, calling it “a committee built on rotten foundations.”

The self-declared “erratic Marxist” was apparently ready to mutilate himself rather than agree to current terms of bailout presented to Athens by its international creditors.

“I’d prefer to cut my arm off” than agree to current deal, he said in an interview to Bloomberg, adding that people of Greece are tired of “losing their dignity by signing agreements and making pledges that simply cannot be met. Because the financing is wrong.”

But he didn’t stop there. Only a day after the ‘cut my arm off’ comment, Varoufakis described the creditors’ relationship with Greece as “terrorism.”

“What they are doing with Greece has a name: terrorism,” Varoufakis told Spain’s El Mundo daily. “Why have they forced us to close the banks? To make people frightened. And when it comes to spreading terror, this phenomenon is called terrorism.”

Even after his surprise resignation, Varoufakis promised that he “shall wear the creditors’ loathing with pride.”

“Soon after the announcement of the referendum results, I was made aware of a certain preference by some Eurogroup participants, and assorted ‘partners’, for my… ‘absence’ from its meetings; an idea that the prime minister judged to be potentially helpful to him in reaching an agreement. For this reason I am leaving the Ministry of Finance today,” he said in an online statement.

One of the reasons for leaving his post was reportedly a bitter conflict with Jeroen Dijsselbloem, president of the Eurogroup, which includes all the finance ministers of countries in the Eurozone.

The Greeks were frustrated and surprised over the resignation of their ‘rebel’ Finance Minister.

“Varoufakis is number 1,” “The Europeans want the head of Varoufakis,” “Varoufakis is very good”, the residents of Athens told RT’s Ilya Petrenko.

However, in the hearts and minds of his fans Varoufakis will always remain the guy who rocks. For example, he didn’t take a private car to go to his (now ex) boss Alexis Tsipras, he just arrived on a motorbike.

Varoufakis played by his own rules and looked like a political rock star, often seen with a rucksack on his back and never wearing a necktie.

His tough clashes with the EU and his German counterpart Wolfgang Schäuble over Athens’ debt to the Troika of European lenders were not left unnoticed by a German show which uploaded a YouTube video entitled ‘V for Varoufakis’ (see above).

“He’s the lost son of Zeus with a heart made of stone!”… “his body screams of sex”… “his leather jacket is made of skin from German shepherd puppies”… “He doesn’t negotiate, he simply kicks ass”.

But it’s not only the Germans behind the video who believe that Varoufakis is a badass. His fans apparently had a flight of fancy on “the descendent of Zeus” as they photoshopped him onto pictures of Star Trek’s Mr. Spock, Superman, John McClane from Die Hard epic and many other action heroes.

And though Varoufakis has left the position of Finance Minister, this Greek legend will never be forgotten.
